About me: DJ J-Prince grew up in Ft Lauderdale Florida and spent countless hours playing organized basketball all over the United States, which eventually yielded a full Basketball scholarship to Jacksonville University. But while spending countless summers in Brooklyn New York, he further developed his love and passion for music, which was discovered at, and early age. Princes professional mixing skills were honed at the local clubs and house parties in and around south Florida. Included in the early portion of his professional resume is an internship at 92.7 the beat radio station located in Jacksonville, Prince was fortunate enough to be mentored by popular BET Host DJ Q45 and was immediately recognized for his ambition and charisma. This college internship, however, evolved into a flourishing career in the entertainment industry. Not much time elapsed before Prince, aka Prince of the City, acquired a strong reputation for his innovative mixing technique. That coupled with his distinct personality, propelled his popularity on night radio in North Florida. Soon after his return to Ft. Lauderdale in 2005, Prince began spinning at Miami Heat games during the Heats championship season. J-Prince entered the Mixtape scene in 2006 with his Compilation for Bad Boy artist, Elliot Ness. His debut compilation gained critical acclaim, and was nominated several awards. Within a year, prince had released 10 Major compilations, his Mixtape success led him to establish Prince Of The City Entertainment a full fledge entertainment company focusing and all things Entertainment. To date, Prince has hosted numerous Mixtapes for labels and fortune 500 companies worldwide. He also signed an undisclosed deal in 2009 to head his own radio show, Grind flu Radio (Wednesday nights from 10pm-12am). 2009 was a Big year, in addition to prior acclaimed success, J-Prince launched his social media site called mediarundown.com, and was featured in several music videos and major publications. Hip-hop stars such as Blood Raw, Talib Kweli, and Fat Joe. Brisco, Remmy Martin,Oj Da juice man, and many more have made guest appearances on his compilations. Factoring in the blog he maintains his own website, Princeofthecity.com and video hosting for LiquidSteelTV, Prince continues to redefine the term Grinding.
